2v2 Arena Queue Improvements On The Way
I haven’t been doing any arena games lately but when I was, I used to do a lot of 2v2. All I can say is that while I had some fun pwning some face, having to wait roughly 10 minutes between fights was a drag. It’s even more of a drag especially since I found out that 3v3 and 5v5 queue times were much much faster. Well according to Drysc, improvements are on the way in patch 2.4 for 2v2 arena tournament as far as the queue times are concerned. Here’s what he has to say.
There is a change in 2.4.0 that will allow the servers to kick up more arena instances in a shorter amount of time, generally lowering the amount of time it will take to get into a game with an equal amount of people queuing. We want to avoid calling this a one time “queue cure” as we’re still not entirely certain how the changes will affect queue times under full load. Especially considering the increase in activity we see with any major patch release.
I think they’re guaranteed to have some effect, but if it isn’t an adequate impact we’ll need to make further adjustments. source
It’s a step in the right direction at least in case it doesn’t totally solve the problem. Any improvement is better than none. I give another “thank you” to the guys behind making WoW such a wonderful gaming experience and their continuous effort in making it even better.
