Annoyance… Err Distraction At The Dead Scar
Since the release of patch 2.4, everyone has been into doing the many daily quests at the Isle of Quel’danas. While these quests are indeed great sources of in-game gold, I believe the main reason why is to unlock the many phases and therefore also more daily quests. The other day, day I decided to do my share in contributing to the cause of the server and decided to do the quest Distraction At The Dead Scar, which becomes available in phase 2 of the Battle For Sun’s Reach world event (after completion of phase 2, I read that the quest becomes The Air Strikes Continue).
The quest involves getting on a dragonhawk and bombing some of the mobs at the Dead Scar. It’s quite similar to the bombing quests at the Hellfire Peninsula. Everyone I’ve talked to pretty much experienced at least some annoyance while doing this quest. If you ask me how my experience went, I’ll have to say that doing the quest made my blood pressure rise due to it’s extremely annoying nature. Here’s why:
1. The freakin’ dragonhawk you ride seems to fly too fast. For a bombing quest, that’s bad!
2. The Dead Scar in the Isle of Quel’danas is so far away from where you board the dragonhawk.
3. The mobs you want to bomb don’t always die in one hit.
4. In certain cases, especially for the Eredar Sorcerers, you end up away from the line of sight so you end up not being able to let out your bomb.
Because of these reasons, you end up going back and back and back. It took me something like 10 trips to finish the whole quest and if you ask me, that wasn’t worth the time! Ok so it was my first time and I got a bit better as I took more trips but it sure didn’t get any less annoying!
As a side note, doing this quest lets you have a preview of the Sunwell Plateau raid boss Brutallus. Of course you can also ride over there but flying there on the dragonhawk is way faster if you want to see him. It’s nice that non raiders still get a chance to see him!

Yes that bombing quest is very annoying. If you throw a bomb at Brutallus he will yell something like come back with 24 of your friends weakling which I found amusing.

Do the bombing quest in a party. So much faster :) me and my boyfriend usually do dailies together and we can do the bombing run in IQ in one go :)

I don’t usually do the dailies with a party but I sure will do this in one every time I can!
