D&D Creator Passes Away At 69
It’s a sad time for the gaming world because it has just lost pretty important figure. Creator of Dungeons and Dragons Gary Gygax just passed away at age 69. As far as I can remember, Dungeons and Dragons was THE role playing game and the father of every kind of adventure and role playing game ever made. I may be wrong about that statement but as far as I’m concerned it is indeed so.
I’ve always been drawn to the adventure and role playing genre of video gaming. From Hero’s Quest to the likes of Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, to Neverwinter Nights and the Diablo series and now World of Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons seems to have influenced all the games of that genre I’ve loved growing up.
I admit that I really only found out now about who the guy behind D&D really is but I am thankful for his work. Without D&D we wouldn’t have WoW so for me and several millions around the world today, the passing of Mr. Gygax is sad news. I send my condolence to his family and also send my thanks for starting something big that’s in the hearts of gamers everywhere!
