Death Knight “Interview” At WoW Website

The WoW design team answers some questions about the Death Knight class, which will be playable when the Wrath of the Lich King expansion comes out. After reading the interview, I realized that there really isn’t anything new they talked about that the team and Community Managers haven’t already said in the past. But at least if you missed out on something, the interview has everything you need to know. Basically the interview points out the following:
The Death Knight will be the first hero class in WoW. That does not mean they will be stronger than other classes but will have a different feel when playing it.
The design team felt it fitting that the Death Knight would be the hero class for the next expansion because of their connection to the Lich King and the conflict that will arise.
The Death Knight will be a class that can fill the tanking role. The tank is a vital role in a group and the design team wanted more options to fill that role to make group formation easier without marginalizing other tanking classes
Just like how Death Knights are normally pictured, they will tank with a 2-handed weapon and spell casting while still being able to maintain threat and mitigate damage. (just how exactly they plan to do that, we don’t know)
Death Knights will use a different resource system called runes instead of mana, energy or rage.
We should expect to see some classic Death Knight spells among the class’ arsenal.
As you can see, these are only the basics about the class. I was hoping the interview would be a bit more specific about class like give us an idea on the specifics about the talents trees and a list of the kind of specific spells and abilities they will have. Or even specifics on how exactly the rune system will work.

I just got done reading this interview and it makes me want the expansion to be released today! It really looks like they have put some great thought into the Death Knight class and I will probably be one of the thousands of people rolling one once the expansion is released.

Yeah. I’m definitely trying the Death Knight class out. But I’m not sure if I’ll seriously level it. I’m not much of a tank person. I’m pretty much a dps guy through and through.

It’s already been announced that you can create a Death Knight as long as you have a character level 55 or higher in your account. It will start at lvl 55.
