Improvements For Druid Mark Of The Wild Buff?

Ah Mark of the Wild. There’s a reason why it’s called the best buff in the game. It not only adds an armor bonus but it also increases all your attributes and resistances by a good amount. This spell starts out buffing only armor but as later ranks go by you’ll notice that the attributes get increased too and much later the resistances too.

For some reason I’m the type of player who likes to buff passersby with buffs. As a mage I get to buff a lot of people with arcane intellect but only get to /wave at warriors and rogues. That’s why I feel a bit bad when I play my warlock and only have detect lesser invisibility and unending breath to offer. Druids get all the fun together with paladins who can buff any class around that happen to pass by with Mark of the Wild for druids and the various blessing for Paladins.

Despite being the best buff in the game, it seems that Mark of the Wild could get an improvement when the Wrath of the Lich King expansion comes out. Here’s what Blizzard Community manager Eyonix has to say.

We recongize [sic] the concerns expressed in regards to mark of the wild and it may very well see improvement for Wrath of the Lich King. I do strongly disagree that it’s anywhere as useless as you claim, however.

Also keep in mind, because it affects all stats, some class/specs benefit from it more than others. Source

I do have a level 15 tauren druid lying around but obviously I’m not experienced with the ins and outs of druid-ness. Am I missing something? What does the best buff in the game need improvement for? If it’s the mana costs then mages and priests experience the same thing with their arcane intellect and power word: fortitude spells. Is it the amounts by which the attributes are increased? They seem fine to meas far as the amounts per rank of the spell go. Perhaps what we all need is new ranks to our spells but that should come closer to when WoTLK comes out to prepare us for the new content. But that’s just me so I hope someone will enlighten me as to what the problem really is. Right now I don’t see a problem.

Motw is not the best buff of the game at end game level, especially in raiding environment, and to a certain degree in pvp. Not by a long shot.

I play a 70 druid myself, and If I have to choose between which buff I get, it would be:

BoK>PW:F>MOTW For end game pve and Pvp survivability becoming a huge difference between success and failure, both BoK and PWF provide much more than MOTW. BoK simply outclasses MoTW in all respects at level 70
