Leadership Problem Of Arena Teams

by Angelo on December 16th, 2007

There’s something I’ve been wondering about before concerning arena teams and their leadership. Lo and behold the very thing I was wondering about has become and is still a problem for my one and only active arena team. I mentioned before that one of the things my arena team did before patch 2.3 and the personal ratings came out was to disband my 2v2 team and remake it so that we start fresh. I took the liberty of making the team and thus I am the team’s leader. Normally I only do arena with one other guy while a third (my team mate’s sister and our beloved guild master) only used to do it with us on occasion.

On the day my play time expired I realized that I’d be gone for a while leaving my team without a leader. I could only imagine how disappointed my regular team mate would have been if our team didn’t have that third member. He would have not been able to do any arena on our team. I know he has other teams but my point is leaving a without a leader could post some problems.

I know that transferring leadership can be done but at the moment you have to be online to that. You have to plan the transfer. For people who suddenly have to take a leave from the game and don’t have time to log into the game do these administrative matters or for people like myself, the team could be left hanging.

My suggestion is to make arena teams like guilds in the sense that guild masters could assign officers. As we know guild officers could have some powers the guild master has. This way, if the team leader is out the team can still function. This makes sense especially now because we get our points from our personal rating instead of the team rating like in the past. Perhaps another suggestion is to allow assignment of “arena officers” or transfer of leadership from the account page on the World of Warcraft website so that even if the leader cannot log on he can still make administrative decisions while away and not leave his team hanging.

Any thought?

Hi Angelo. Being a boomkin with imp mark Ill lay down for ya the problems with MoW ^^

    1) Resistance bonus does not stack with other +resistance buffs (Exp. Fire Resist Aura + MoW = Fire Resist Aura)
    2) When this little dandy is stolen or removed in the middle of combat, you lose health, mana, str, agl, spr, armor, and resistance >.

Seems you replied to the wrong post but anyway thanks for mentioning the problem of MoTW.

I get the problem about the resistances but about losing those stats when stolen or removed, isn’t that the same thing that happens with AI, BoK, and PW:F for the stats they increase? It shouldn’t be a big deal then.

Sorry about that ‘ ‘; But Ill still post here :P
As for AI and PWF they both only increase a single stat a great amount, when removed its a loss for 1 thing
You can easily give a warrior or rogue int and when its removed its just whatevs, but if something like GoW is lost, they’re losing quite a bit
As for BoK. . .well Id much rather have Kings than Gift. . .
33 Resist and some armor is crap compared to +10% stats
