No Hide Shoulder Option?

Aristaar from the Burning Legion realm asks if a hide shoulder option could be implemented to the game just like the hide cloak and hide helm option that already exists. He says that he doesn’t like how some armor sets’ shoulders look so he would rather hide them. Here’s what CM Bornakk had to say.

We have no plans to implement an option to hide the shoulders. The shoulders are a key part of the art in the armor sets and we have no plans to hide something that is such an important element to the look and feel of the game. source

I understand where Bornakk is coming from. Shoulders seem to give a certain “oomph” to the look of your character. It’s the reason I make it a point to make or buy my new characters a shoulder piece at level 15 even if it’s just the crappy ones that just give armor. It’s also the reason why there’s a pretty steep personal rating requirement to buy the season 3 shoulder piece. For me a character that has a crappy looking shoulder piece still looks cooler than one who doesn’t have one. I’d never hide my shoulders ever.

Of course, it would be nice to fill the needs of everyone. My opinion is definitely not the opinion of the rest of the player base so I’m sure that there are many people out there who would want to hide their shoulders as well. The look of one’s character means a lot to him or her since it’s what you’ll be staring at for hours and hours at a time. It would nice to have an option to hide the shoulders if one doesn’t want to see it.
