On Daily Quests And Recent Improvement News

Ever since daily quests were introduced into World of Warcraft in that patch that included Skettis and Ogri’la, it has had a pretty big impact in the game. The biggest impact is obviously the fact that the daily quest is another way to earn money aside from simply farming gold or farming things to sell in the auction house such as herbs, ore, leather or even primals. While it’s debatable that daily quests are more fun than simply doing those other things (for me it’s not fun when you die a lot doing them), it’s something you can do that has an objective, reducing the repetitive and boring motions of simply farming gold.

The latest news about daily quests should be huge for those who like doing them. Patch 2.4 will increase the limit of these daily quests from 10 per day to 25 per day. That’s the whole quest log! I bet there will be some people who would clear their whole quest log to make room for 25 daily quests. That’s more daily fun and more potential for money making. This excerpt from a Q&A posted on World of Raids by the Acacia, the person who translated the recent Jeff Kaplan interview shows some light about the reason behind the increase.

Kaplan mentions that they have realized that there are many different types of WoW players. In regards to endgame content, there are many that enjoy PvP or Arenas, some raids, some do 5-man instances. And then there are of course people who need to grind money to fund their different activities in the game. And the grinding part isn’t really that much “fun”. It’s more fun to be able to follow quest lines, and have the option of playing the game as you did 1-69. The 25 daily limit (which is the amount of quests you can carry in your quest log at one time), is basically set to let you have no limitations what so ever.

Sometimes I wonder why some people do nothing but PvP the whole time. But that’s because I’m more of a PvE guy who likes doing dungeons. People play the game for different reasons and it’s great that the game is quite flexible with catering to those reasons. They made the cross-realm BG’s to make it easier for the PvPers to do them. They decreeased the reputation needed to do heroics to make it easier for the PvE players to experience the such content. By increasing the daily quest limit, people are more flexible in their daily quest needs. It’s a good thing Blizzard is doing a great effort in catching those gold farmers and gold spammers since the new daily quest improvement will make it easier for those guys to earn gold!
