Patch 2.4 Presents: Swift White Hawkstrider
Finally an epic hawkstrider mount will be in the game that you don’t need to buy with gold from a mount vendor. It’s not quite what I expected would happen though. I ranted a few months ago about why there weren’t any epic hawstrider mounts for sale from the pvp rewards vendor just like the other mount types.
Nevertheless, the Swift White Hawkstrider will be made available in patch 2.4 as a drop from Prince Kael’thas on the heroic mode encounter in Magister’s Terrace. It’s another mount dropped by a boss in an instance dungeon much like Baron Rivendare’s mount, the mounts that drop in Zul’Gurub (Tiger and Raptor I think) and the Phoenix flying mount that drops off Kael’thas in the Tempest Keep encounter.
One thing that bothers me though is that if the image is correct then it’s restricted to the horde and taurens can’t ride it either. Since it’s a dungeon that both the horde and alliance can raid, a faction restricted mount doesn’t seem to make sense.
