Requirements For Entering Karazhan Altered!
You no longer need to get keyed for Karazhan ever again! Well not exactly but it’s real close.

For those who played in the pre-TBC days, this change to Karazhan would be familiar to you since entry to places like Upper Blackrock Spire, Scholomance, Stratholme - dead side, North and West wings of Diremaul needed keys but only one person was required to have it. The same goes for entering the Arcatraz, in fact. This new change to the requirement to enter Karazhan is similar since only one person needs to have the Master’s Key.
I’m sure this change is in line with making things more easily accessible just like the change to lower the rep requirement to purchase the heroic keys. Of course we’ll be seeing players who aren’t necessarily prepared entering the place. Some of these guys could get away with this for some time but eventually they’re going to realize that they still need to prepare themselves gear wise to advance.
So on one hand this change leaves a bad taste in our mouths since we all know how frustrating it was for some of us to get our toons keyed. The great thing about this change is that we don’t get to get our alts keyed. If our alts (or even a few guild mates who want to enter the place) have the gear to do the first few bosses anyway, it’s a nice way to get them geared faster to be able to do the later Karazhan content. My guild had to wait months until we could raid the place since even though we had the players we didn’t have enough keyed people. As I said, eventually everyone will have to have the right gear to advance because the place isn’t going to get any easier to beat.
I assume that not many people will want to go through the hassle of going through the keying process now. So for those characters that did go through it, maybe we should wear a badge of honor like a title similar to the Champion of the Naaru. Of course there will be a lot of people with it since many are Kara keyed! I have a feeling I still will go through the process on my pally when she hits 70 but at least there won’t be any pressure to complete it.
While they’re at it, maybe they should apply the same change they did to Kara to Onyxia’s Lair. My guild has been wanting to do that place but we don’t have enough keyed and it just isn’t worth the time to go through the whole chain just to do an old raid.
