Season 3 Weapons and Shoulders Still Have Perosnal Rating Requirements For Season 4

I wrote a piece a while back where I speculated that when season 4 of the arena tournament starts, the personal rating requirement of the season 3 weapons and shoulders would be removed. It’s nothing but wishful thinking apparently since the latest info about season 4 from CM Drysc just smashed my speculation.

There will be no changes to gear availability/rating requirement until Season 4 starts, which will not begin when patch 2.4 goes live.

When Season 4 starts here’s what will happen:

* Season 1 removed
* Season 2 moved to honor
* Season 3 rating requirements and prices lowered

Shoulders : 1950 rating
Weapons : 1800 rating

* Season 4 gear added

Season 4 isn’t expected to begin any time soon, but as always we plan to give at least a two week notice before it does. Stay tuned to these forums or any of your fine local fansites as I’m sure the information will spread fairly rapidly once we do announce a Season 4 start date.

Season 3 prices and Season 4 rating requirements are not yet announced. All information contained herein is of course, as always, subject to change.

I guess it still makes sense that the personal rating requirements still exist since Blizzard wanted the shoulders and the weapons to be some kind of mark of achievement and glory even if it’s to a lesser degree. I mean getting a personal rating high enough to purchase them now is really quite a feat so it’s not right to make it easier by removing the rating when s4 starts. Lowering the personal rating requirement will make it a bit easier to get while still maintaining a sense that it requires quite a deal of effort and thus quite a deal of glory.
