Starting Anew

by Angelo on April 29th, 2008

The past week has been quite an emotional and depressing one for me and my friends in World of Warcraft. You see, my guild the Thundercats pretty much blew up. Well it’s more like it has been reduced to the alts guild it started as in its conception. It’s still alive but most of the people left leaving only their alts for solidarity’s sake but in practice we really went our separate ways already. You see, certain circumstances lead us to stop raiding and the people who wanted to raid left.

I’d like to take this moment to say that I still love you guys with all my heart and I’m really really sad that it’s come to this. I’ve been part of a few guild breakups in the past but none have left me this emotionally distraught ever. I feel like I lost my family and to great extent, I really did. I lost my WoW family. I’ll cherish the moments we had together building up the guild from a simple alts guild to a guild that even managed to kill High King Maulgar in Gruul’s Lair. I still remember how amazing we were the first week we got into Karazhan and killed the Curator. I knew we would achieve great things but sadly it’s come to an end.

To make things short, I followed a few of my Thundercats to form a new guild after personally getting disappointed that the guilds I wanted to join weren’t recruiting mages and the ones that were just didn’t feel like a right fit for me. It surprised me to see the guild do its first Karazhan run today only days after being born. Hopefully that’s a sign of great things to come. It became clear to me that I would rather stick with the remaining former Thundercats friends that joined me in this new guild and try to make it work than to join a larger guild and run the risk of having a number of bad things happen to me.

What about you? Would you rather start small and work your way up or join a large raiding guild and take the risks that come with it?

I’m gonna miss you too. What good is my paladin’s teyla spec if my mentor isn’t around to help me with it? LOL

Incidentally, I already got my engineering up high enough to make my eng goggles and flying machine. i just have to get the mats to make em.

I’d so join you in playing Age of Conan but I don’t want to get hooked to two MMO’s at the same time lol
