The Run Through
We’ve seen it all over chat while hanging out in one of the major cities. Sometimes you even get a tell from a total stranger. If you’re level 70, it’s probably happened to you LOTS of times. I’m talking about some lowbie asking for a run through a certain dungeon like Ragefire Chasm, Deadmines, Wailing Caverns or some other low level dungeon.
Whitecap from Bladefist has this complaint:
How come high levels don’t run us lowbies? Some of us really need a run through sometime and all I ever see is level 70s just jumping around in Org, why not make yourself useful and give back to the community? Don’t give me that crap of grouping with me on an alt, you are already on a main why not make it faster for both of us? source
While I say Whitecap isn’t totally correct about the matter since players still do run lowbies through low level dungeons, he isn’t totally wrong either. Take myself for example. I generally don’t run lowbies through low level dungeons unless he or she is a friend. For me, I don’t really care how much gold you offer me (unless if you offer me 1000g perhaps) so running paying lowbies is just a waste of my time. Unless you’re a friend, the time I spend doing these runs just isn’t worth it for me.
I guess I’m like this because I know that you can totally get to the higher levels without doing much group content. I’ve been playing since a few months after WoW was released and I got to level 60 pretty much doing just solo content, leveling in the various zones and doing dungeons just for the experience and the quests rather than the gear (and being able to say I did that dungeon at least once). With the new leveling improvements implemented in patch 2.3, getting to the high levels is even much easier.
What is your attitude towards such lowbies who ask for a run through a certain dungeon?
The image above was a run through I went to with my blood elf pally when she was still around level 16 or 17. A level 70 feral druid ran us through deadmines. It was fun seeing the bodies lined up like that. lol
