The Skeletons To Prove It

Learning a new dungeon encounter and finally coming through is probably one of the best feelings in the game a player could experience. Even at the 5 man dungeon level, defeating a boss for the first time is a huge boost to one’s morale especially if that boss was a a tough one. At the raid level, the feeling is even greater since bosses at that level are more challenging to overcome.

I’m sure you’ll all agree with me that the best feeling comes from defeating a boss that took several wipes, several disappointing moments, several times that just made you and your guild mates feel like quitting. Downing that boss for the first time lifts morale, brings back confidence and joy.

Today my guild the Thundercats went into Gruul’s Lair for the first time with our partner guild Ravens Light. It was the first time both guilds experienced 25 man raiding although some members had experience raiding the place in the past. We spent all our raiding time trying to learn the High King Maulgar encounter and got dealt with what seemed like countless wipes. We had the skeletons on the ground to prove it! (See image above) We almost gave up after what seemed like a night of nothing but wipes. We were prepared to write off the night as a learning experience and come back again another day. But after saying that we’d give it one last shot, it seemed like the whole encounter went like clockwork. Once we got all the ogre council members down and High King Maulgar was left alone with everyone still up, we knew it was coming!

It was just pure joy earlier that no one really paid much attention to the gear that dropped. To us, the kill was more important.

p.s. I won the t4 shoulders!
