To Table or Not To Table?

Blizzard further cemented Mages as the vending machines of the game by giving them the spell Ritual of Refreshment, also called the “table” because the graphic is really a table of food and drink. While this made giving out food and water to group and raid members much much easier, it has also created a few other problems.

The most obvious is the mage’s need to carry more arcane powder than the crap load he already was carrying before Ritual of Refreshment was introduced to the game. This means slightly more expenses for mages and also less bag space since you have tyo carry even more arcane powder in your bags. The fact that conjuring a table costs the mage two of these reagents doesn’t help the mage’s cause either. For me, the added cost isn’t much of a big deal if it means helping others especially if it’s for your guild mates.

For me the biggest problem with the spell is the fact that some guy can click spam the table to get the whole lot. This reason and the fact that it costs two arcane powders to cast are the reasons mages give to people in BG’s on why they don’t conjure a table for the rest of the team. It is a legitimate concern. I don’t mind laying down a table in BG’s but I get pissed when it runs out so fast because some guy just took the whole lot. Warlocks don’t have this problem when casting Ritual of Souls because there’s an inherent limit of one healthstone per person at a time.

While I’m not against limiting how many conjured manna biscuits one can take from the table, there still must be some way of preventing the click spam to exhaust it rapidly. I think putting even a 1 second cooldown to being able to take manna biscuits from the table would allow for some regulation and it would give other players a greater chance to land some for themselves.

Knowing how a lot of players might think, I’m afraid even this would not totally convince all mages to freely conjure tables during battlegrounds. After all, it still costs money!

To table or not to table? That is the question. What would you do?
