WoTLK Mammoth Mount Video
I read somewhere before that players will be able to ride mounts that can carry passengers. Exactly how that works in terms of level and location restrictions and such are details I still don’t know about. I was looking through Youtube earlier and I found this video of the Mammoth mount that’s available in the Wrath of the Lich King beta. The reason why it’s huge is that it’s supposed to be one of those passenger mounts. If you look at the Wrath wiki site, you’ll find that there’s a 2 seater version and a possible group carrier version.
Passenger mounts should be quite interesting but ultimately, I don’t see the point unless you’re lazy or trying to taxi lowbies from one place to another in kind or for profit. This is less of an issue too since players get their mounts at level 30 now. Well at least they can pay someone to taxi them somewhere to get a faster speed.
I can already see the kind of mischief some people could do with this taxi service. Take off your gear while the other player is afk then run off a cliff. *Evil grin*

Speaking of the evil afk cliff jumping, I was going to say the only reason I can think this would be usefull is for the player who needs to go afk and asks a friend if they could taxi them somewhere.

yeah. This reminds me of my guild. We stop going afk in Kara while putting yourself on follow with a guildie. Some of my guild mates ended up getting lost or falling off a ledge when they came back lol.

Depending on how fast the mount is, I could save up with my boyfriend and share a mount. A few of our characters never quest without the other.

It’s a interesting new mount, I know there’s been times when I wish I could have given a lower level character a lift! But with the lower level mounts now, I do wonder whether this will just be a novelty for a while before not being used to any great degree in future.

@Anna: That’s something I didn’t think of until now. Sharing the cost for one mount would be a nice reason for this mount. Unless this thing runs at epic ground mount speed at least though it’s not that great
@Zath: It certainly is a strange idea with some potential but unless it has something really useful, it’s gonna be nothing more than a novelty.
