WoW Atlas Available On WoW Website
Have you ever wanted some basic information about the game like where to go to train for the next level of your chosen profession? Or have you even wondered where you can repair in a certain area or buy ammo for your hunter? These are things that every new player would want to know (or at least a player new to that specific scenario) and many times you could find yourself waiting for the answer to a question with no success.
You’re in luck! Anytime you find yourself in such a situation just go visit the Atlas at the World of Warcraft website. I really recommend it for newbies trying to learn more about the game. Hopefully this will help reduce the number of newb questions being asked in chat. If anything this Atlas will be a response for those people asking newb questions in chat =)

While I am all for helping new players get the hang of things I see nothing wrong with them asking “newb questions” in chat.
We were all new once and personally, I like helping out the lower level players when I can. There’s a huge difference between a “noob” and someone that’s new.
Overall however, I think the Atlas was a good idea.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m totally for helping people out especially if they’re new to the game. All I’m saying is that I’d really prefer that they did their research first before resorting to asking people in chat. Now that there is an atlas available to them to answer these basic questions, I really hope that new players would look there first before asking around.

I don’t mind new players asking questions but it is the people that ask the questions that have the answers at their fingertips but are too lazy to hit “L” and read a quest description.
Anyway, this will be a great tool for the “non-lazy” new players that don’t mind looking things up.
